Working together to help the elderly during these challenging times.

Now more than ever we need to work together to get through these challenging times.

At Meaningful Recruitment we have the connections and we are playing our part in supporting those in need. We're helping those wanting to contribute their energy and we're sharing our knowledge in the hope that we might inspire you to make a difference to others. We believe we can achieve much more if we work together not just during the next few months but in the longer term.

This blog will help our customers who are keen to help the elderly.

Please share the information with your friends, family, work colleagues and to groups such as Facebook community groups.

If you'd like to volunteer your energy and help these organisations there are links below so you can get in touch directly with them. We're told any help will be gratefully received.

Campaign to End Loneliness have a great website with lots of information and ideas if you're concerned about a relative, neighbour or member of community who may be in need of some support and feeling lonely. There is a helpful link below with suggestions such as these:-

  • Call friends, colleagues and relatives regularly on the phone and see how they are.

  • Put a note through people's doors to see if they are ok and give your contact number or address instead of email addresses as they may not have access to technology.

  • Create WhatsApp groups with neighbours, family or friends. Share news of how you’re getting on and ask other people how they are.

  • Use the phone, text, use FaceTime, Facebook and Twitter to keep up to date and keep in touch.

  • Offer to help others with shopping or running errands. You could use an app like Nextdoor to see if your neighbours need assistance. If you’re worried about transmitting the virus you can leave bags on the doorstep.
